The Escort Passport 9500ix is an intelligent and effective radar detector. When using “dark mode” on the 9500ix, no alert is displayed on the radar’s LED readout, but the SmartCord’s flashing LED offers a visual indication of your radar threat that won’t draw attention from outside eyes. The SmartCord also features a mute handy button, which can sometimes be a more convenient (and less obvious) reach than the detector’s top-mounted mute button. The Escort Redline one word WOW!! This unit really is one of the best. The design may not be beautiful but the beauty of the Escort Redline is all about whats inside the box. The Escort Redline is what I would like to call a performance detector made to compete with the big boys. The Escort 8500 X50 is in my personal opinion one of the best units you can buy without spending a whole heck of a lot of money. This is really one of the best units I have ever seen in its class and you really cant go wrong with this detector. The Escort 8500 X50 comes with all the bells and whistles, it picks up all the different radar bands and even has POP protection so you don’t have to worry about being protected. I really cant even express how blown away with this detector I was. This was my first radar detector and I still to this day recommend it to anybody who is looking for an affordable first radar detector. The Escort Solo S2 is really a state of the art masterpiece as far as the design of a cordless radar detector goes. The Escort Solo S2 is a completely cordless radar detector, stealthy, compact and easily portable unit. Much of the Solo S2’s design and interface is focused on power savings being it is a cordless radar detector, which, according to Escort, allows the unit to run for months under normal use on two AA batteries. The LCD backlight is only illuminated when a button is pressed, or when the unit detects a signal. In fact, the only indication we had that the unit was on at all was a single blinking red light next to the unit’s mode setting. The Escort Solo S2 is also equipped with a motion sensor that automatically powers the unit off if the vehicle has not moved for 25 minutes. The functionality and performance of this cordless radar detector is not to be underestimated though. This cordless radar detector detects on all bands and has superior range that you would expect from a name like Escort.
